Update to the Early Vermont Settlers Project & Things Learned Along the Way   October 24, 2020 The “Early Vermont Settlers” a project at the New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) is led by Scott Andrew Bartley. This multi-year effort will provide sketches for all families who settled in what is now Vermont by 1784. “Drew” is on the first series of the project going up to 1771. The study group is being researched town by town. Each sketch will cover the head of household, their spouse(s), and their children. Their origins and anything that can be found on the family by 1771 will be included. Less detail will be given for sketches after that date, but all vital and probate records will be included. Drew will also describe lessons learned and new sources that have been identified. Classes at the Vermont Genealogy Library this fall will be on-line presentations using Zoom. They take place on Saturday mornings from 10:30 to noon, including Q & A. The class fee is $10. To read more and to register, go to our website www.vtgenlib.org.
