DESCRIPTION:Bishop McDermott will be offering Mass at the Octagon on Mount Mansfield on Monday\, October 13\, 2025.  Mass will begin approximately at 8:45 AM.  At the end of Mass there will Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and a prayer to consecrate the State of Vermont to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. \nThere is a fee to access the Octagon via the Toll Road and space is limited. \nWe are asking people to meet no later than 7:30 at the Blessed Sacrament Church parking lot in order to carpool.   \nSPECIFICS \nPlease be aware that the event requires: \na) light hiking & good mobility\nb) bring their own chair\nc) cost: $38 for car/driver\, each additional passenger $15\nd) all vehicles to be heading down the toll road by 9:45 am\nf) bathrooms will be available in the Octagon\ng) in the event of rain\, Mass will be offered at Blessed Sacrament Church at 8:30 AM.\n \nRSVP by contacting bishopsoffice@vermontcatholic.org

The film features Indigenous clergy and lay leaders discussing “how their lives have been affected–historically and currently–by the Doctrine of Discovery” and colonialism.\nThis film screening is being held on and in honor of Indigenous Peoples Day\, observed annually on the second Monday of October.
