SUMMARY:Catechism in a Year(ish)
DESCRIPTION:Using the podcasts from Fr. Mike Schmitz\, we will (slowly) read through the Catechism of the Catholic Church. For those who would prefer to move at a slower pace and discuss the material in a small group\, we will review two (or so) episodes together each week.\nThe Catechism of the Catholic Church details the doctrine\, dogma\, and the basic tenets of the Church. Using the tradition of explaining what the Church believes\, what she celebrates\, what she lives and what she prays\, the Catechism of the Catholic Church offers challenges for believers and answers for all those interested in learning about the mystery of the Catholic faith.\nIn reading the Catechism of the Catholic Church we can perceive the wonderful unity of the mystery of God… — Pope St. John Paul I\nBeginning the week of September 10th\, come to the “Year(ish)” discussion group\, where we will listen together to one or two of the Catechism in A Year podcast\, and then take time to discuss the material together! Our goal is to understand and love more deeply the Church\, and the founder of our Church\, Jesus!\nOur Lady of the Angels: Mondays 6:00 -7:00 pm\nSt. John the Evangelist: Thursdays 9:45 – 10:45 am\nThere is no cost for this discussion group\, but it is recommended that you acquire a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church for your own use.

SUMMARY:Bible Study: Hebrews - The New & Eternal Covenant
DESCRIPTION:Do We Realize How Richly We’ve Been Blessed?\nEmbark on a guided tour of the “Holy of Holies” of biblical theology. The book of Hebrews is like a little Catechism. It is steeped in rich truths that are foundational to our Catholic Faith\, but its highly refined theological concepts can be difficult for even the most seasoned Bible scholars to unpack.\nPresented by Andrew Swafford and Jeff Cavins\, Hebrews: The New and Eternal Covenant draws out the riches of this sublime book in a way that makes them easier to understand. It draws connections between the Old and New Testaments\, the Liturgy\, the Eucharist\, the priesthood\, and so much more. Most importantly\, Hebrews will help Catholics appreciate the astounding generosity of God as they see the wonders he has given us in the Church\nClasses will meet weekly for discussion and to review the videos provided by Ascension Press. Preregistration is required.

Preregistration is required.\nSt. Anthony\, Bethel:  3:00 pm  – 4:30 pm on Tuesdays\, February 18 to April 8\nSt. John the Evangelist\, Northfield: 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm on Wednesdays\, February 19 to April 9\nOur Lady of the Angels\, Randolph\, 9:45 am – 11:15 am on Fridays\, February 21 – April 11
