SUMMARY:What is the Catholic Worker?
DESCRIPTION:A Catholic Worker House of Hospitality is an intentional community built upon the principles of Micah 6:8. “You have been told what is good\, and what the LORD requires of you: Only to do justice and to love mercy\, and to walk humbly with your God.”\nTo do Justice. The community is rooted in the radical Christian lifestyle\, working to bring the Justice of God’s Kingdom into the world around us.\nTo love Mercy. The community grounds itself in performing the Works of Mercy; giving food to the hungry and drink to the thirsty; sheltering the homeless; generally looking after the common good in as far as circumstances require and resources allow.\nTo walk humbly with God. The community sustains itself through an active spiritual life. Communal prayer time and regular Mass attendance are encouraged.\nWe’re working to bring the Catholic Worker to Vermont. Come join one of our meetings to learn more and see if it’s something you’d want to be involved in! We meet weekly on Tuesday evenings in the parish hall downstairs at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Williston.
