DESCRIPTION:We are very excited that our Spring Retreat this year will be led by Edmundite Brother Frank Hagerty on Contemplative Prayer at the St Anne’s Shrine Retreat Center on Isle LaMotte. It will be a time to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life\, a time for fellowship with our sisters\, but most importantly\, a time for “resting in God\, you and God enjoying each other\, not needing words\,” ~Bro. Frank.\nThe retreat this year will be limited to 16 participants\, and we are asking a donation of $35 from each. It will begin on Friday evening\, May 23 at 6PM\, and conclude on Saturday\, May 24\, following 4:00 Mass (this will fulfill your Sunday obligation). Dinner on Friday and lunch on Saturday will be provided and a carpool from SJV will be available. DESCRIPTION:Calling all 7th-12th graders! Join us on Saturday\, May 17 from 10:00 AM-3:45 PM at the St. Charles Parish Hall in Bellows Falls for a free Diocesan Day Retreat. Come together with other local youth and enjoy a day of prayer\, reflection\, fun\, and hope! We will be exploring the theme\, “Light of Hope\,” in parallel with the Year of Jubilee\, “Pilgrims of Hope\,” celebration around the world. Throughout the day\, we will partake in fun activities\, talks\, small group time\, Adoration\, and Mass. Bring your friends and get to know other Catholics from around the state!\nThe retreat is free of charge\, but we are asking participants to bring a bagged lunch and snacks with them. For those who would prefer to move at a slower pace and discuss the material in a small group\, we will review two (or so) episodes together each week.\nThe Catechism of the Catholic Church details the doctrine\, dogma\, and the basic tenets of the Church. Using the tradition of explaining what the Church believes\, what she celebrates\, what she lives and what she prays\, the Catechism of the Catholic Church offers challenges for believers and answers for all those interested in learning about the mystery of the Catholic faith.\nIn reading the Catechism of the Catholic Church we can perceive the wonderful unity of the mystery of God… — Pope St. John Paul I\nBeginning the week of September 10th\, come to the “Year(ish)” discussion group\, where we will listen together to one or two of the Catechism in A Year podcast\, and then take time to discuss the material together!
